West Philly ACES_storyWest Philly Aces

One of our yearly projects helps West Philly Achievement Charter School students' sing their way to the future with Recording Studio Manager, Ryan Schwabe, and Music Industry Program Director, Cyrille Taillandier. Each year, Ryan and Cyrille invite Music Industry program alumnus, Paul DiGilio, and his West Philadelphia Achievement Charter School's music students to MAD Dragon Studios to record an original song.

A song is written and rehearsed by Paul and his students during their after-school music program throughout the year. In the final weeks of the school year, the group takes a field trip to the MAD Dragon Studios to record, mix and learn about the process of recording music. Last year, Paul's kindergarten through fifth grade music group recorded the WPACES school anthem, "West Philly Aces," with music industry students Justin Chapman and Kazia Nowacki assisting.
